Microblading for Eyebrow Enhancement  $450  $300 initial appt/  $150 touch up appt

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup. At the Lash Lounge, a microblading specialist will gently use fine needles and pigment to create hair strokes on the skin. There are many colors of pigment to choose from. The technique creates finer strokes than regular cosmetic tattooing, giving a more realistic finish that lasts up to 1-3 years.

Before the procedure, we measure and do some mapping of your features to find the perfect placement of brows to frame your face. We use a brow pencil to outline the shape of the brow, and discuss the shape and placement you desire. Next, you relax with an anesthetic cream on your brows. Then we start with the microblading. The appointment takes 2 hours due to designing and numbing to assure comfort during the procedure.  The initial color of the tattoo is darker than the healed result, but in about two weeks the color softens to a lighter tone. There is always a 4 week touch up appointment where we make any adjustments needed, and go over the area again for retention of color. After the touch up appointment you do not need to come back for 1-3 years!

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

The internal essence of your blood contains life-giving fundamental protein growth factors. PRP utilizes a leading-edge, patented technology that is specifically designed. With a simple quick and advantageous process, your PRP professional is able to derive a high concentration of biological nutrient-rich cells and create platelet-rich plasma, for facial and/or hair rejuvenation.

MICRONEEDLING and PRP

Affected Areas

Micro-needling with PRP (platelet rich plasma), also known as Collagen Induction Therapy is ideal for the treatment of acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks, wrinkles and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, lax skin, sun damaged, large pores, and uneven skin texture. It can be performed either on the face or body and is suitable for all skin types and colors.

How Microneedling with PRP Works

This therapy is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment with quick recovery time and is designed to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production. The treatment actually involves the use of two procedures, micro-needling and PRP (platelet rich plasma) done consecutively.

MicroNeedling

The first procedure is called Micro-Needling. A small hand held, automatic device that contains tiny micro-needles is passed over the skin creating tiny micro-wounds, or channels, on the skin. Micro-needling pens safer than other products, such as dermal rollers. It utilizes sterile single-use surgical grade disposable cartridge tips that has greater efficiency and superior clinical results while maintaining the highest level of safety for both the patient and provider.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)

The second procedure is called PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma). Platelet Rich Plasma is produced from an individual’s own blood. Blood is drawn at our facility as though you are having routine blood testing at your primary care physician’s office. The PRP is taken from your body and is specially prepared by spinning down the blood cells in a centrifuge to a high concentration. We use the Eclipse system, it is a closed sterile system that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The platelets are concentrated to 3X the normal blood values, the Eclipse system eliminates granulocytes and red blood cells (RBCs) which hurts tissue regeneration. PRP contains highly concentrated amounts of natural growth factors and other cytokines that promote the regeneration process of soft tissues. The PRP is applied directly to the channels that were created from the micro-needling to further stimulate the natural healing process and creation of collagen.

Recovery

After the treatment, your skin will be slightly pink and feel slightly sunburned. For most people, your skin will completely recover in 24-72 hours. Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours. Skin will feel dry. Do not pick area, moisturize with hyaluronic and/or emollient/moisturizer. Hats and sun protection is required for at least 2 weeks post treatment. Direct shower spray, high heat, or the use of retinols or exfoliants should be avoided for 2 weeks as well.   Your body’s collagen production usually takes about 4-8 weeks, so you will continue to see improvements over this time.

The Process

Initial Consultation
Procedure Time: Approximately 60 Minutes
Sessions Required for Optimal Results: 4 Weeks Apart
Recovery Time: No Downtime – Slightly Pink Skin for 24-72 Hours

FAQs

Does the micro-needling hurt?
 A topical numbing cream is used, so there is minimal discomfort. Some patients have compared the feeling of that to a dry brush on the skin.
How much blood do you take?
We take 11 mL of blood, which is enough to do a full face.
How long before I see results?
You will continue to see improvements in your skin as your body’s natural repair process creates more collagen. Most patients see noticeable results after 4-8 weeks.
How often can I have this done?
You need to wait 4 weeks between each session. We recommend a treatment course of 3 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart.

THE SCIENCE OF PRP

PRP contains special cells called Platelets, that can theoretically cause growth of the hair follicles by stimulating the stem cells and other cells in the microenvironment of the hair follicle. These special Platelet cells promote healing, accelerates the rate and degree of tissue healing and regeneration, responds to injury, and formation of new cellular growth. The primary purpose of using PRP in hair restoration is to stimulate inactive or newly implanted hair follicles into an active growth phase.

Inside the Platelets are many intracellular structures such as glycogen, lysosomes and alpha granules. These granules within the PRP contain clotting and growth factors that are eventually released during the healing and repair process.

Human blood contains mesenchymal stem cells, and autologous blood products that contain essential and specific growth factors that assist in tissue regeneration and healing. Published medical literature from Europe and the United States confirms the safety and use of PRP therapy. It has been used a medical adjunct therapy for over two decades for skin and wound healing. PRP therapy has established itself to be effective as a medical treatment modality in the specialty fields of oral surgery, neurosurgery, plastic and cosmetic surgery, sports medicine and orthopedics.

Blood is drawn at our facility as though you are having routine blood testing at your primary care physician’s office. The blood is spun in a centrifuge and the PRP is separated and removed from the rest of the blood.
The PRP is taken from your body and is specially prepared by spinning down the blood cells to a high concentration. We use the Eclipse system. It is a closed sterile system and the platelets are concentrated to 3X the normal blood values. The system eliminates granulocytes which hurts tissue regeneration and wound healing. An anesthesia block is given to nerves of the scalp so the patient does not feel any pain. The highly concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into the scalp. PRP contains many growth factors that stimulate the hair follicle’s growth.  Some patient’s choose to have PRP performed every three (3) to four (4) months as early data suggests regular or PRP treatments that may stimulate hair growth.

PRP specific cells that causes hair growth include:

Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF)—promotes blood vessel growth, cell replication, skin formation;
Transforming Growth-Factor-Beta (TGF-b)—promotes growth of matrix between cells, bone metabolism;
Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)—promotes blood vessel formation;
Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)—promotes cell growth and differentiation, blood vessel formation, collagen formation;
Fibroblast Growth Factor-2 (FGF-2)—promotes growth of specialized cells and blood vessel formation; and,
Insulin Like Growth Factor - (IGF)—a regulator of normal physiology in nearly every type of cell in the body

DOES PRP WORK?

Individual results vary with each patient. No guarantees of success can be made but PRP preliminary studies indicate patients can respond to PRP therapy. Some hair restoration surgeons apply PRP to the scalp for those patients who are not surgical candidates every three (3) to four (4) months. Other protocols will use PRP before or during surgery to insure graft survivability.
PRP is a potential emerging non-surgical based therapy for natural hair follicle stimulation for thinning hair. Larger clinical studies are pending but the current medical literature contains numerous optimistic results. Although a few controlled studies exist, anecdotal and case reports are the primary sources reflecting success with PRP therapy.

WHO SHOULD NOT HAVE PRP TREATMENT?

Patients with history of heavy smoking, drug and alcohol use. Medical diagnosis such as platelet dysfunction syndromes, thrombocytopenias, hypofibrinogenaemia, hemodynamic instability, sepsis, acute and chronic Infections, chronic liver disease, anti-coagulation therapy, chronic skin diseases or cancer, metabolic and systemic disorders.

IS PRP FOR ME?

PRP has been used successfully in other medical and surgical disciplines for many years. The decision to use PRP is a personal decision and should be made after careful research, consideration and consultation with a physician. PRP is safe and natural because the procedure concentrates the good cells from your scalp and injects them directly back into the area where it is needed. There is absolutely no chance of getting a blood infection from another human being. PRP involves using your own cells that are not modified or changed, and it will not be rejected by your immune system.

Extensive clinical trials are not complete and medical data is not yet published to establish the absolute effectiveness of PRP therapy in hair restoration. PRP should not be considered a “cure” for hair loss and no guarantee can be made about its individual effectiveness. No claim of PRP efficacy in promoting hair growth can be made because there is no FDA approval that would allow such claims to be made.

CONCLUSION

In summary, PRP therapy offers the opportunity for hair growth for those patients who are not candidates for surgery or those patients wanting a more aggressive nonsurgical approach to treatment. For our surgical patients PRP therapy is performed at the same day as the hair restoration surgery.

Whether you are looking for additional hair stimulation or are looking to have hair surgery with the addition of PRP, the Lash Lounge and Smile Spa is able to meet your needs. Results will vary from patient to patients, and PRP as a non-surgical option has not been offers patients with miniaturization and hair thinning improvement in hair caliber and thickness.
